FAQ

Process Explanation

Q. We’ve never done anything like this before – can you guys help us along the way?

You bet! Our clients are assigned a Project Manager who is responsible for organizing everything from the initial stages of pre-production until the project is complete. The project manager, in addition to the marketing director, makes sure that our clients are kept “in the loop” with each step in the process. They are also easily accessible to any questions that might come up on the client end.

Q. Can you explain what happens in the video production process?

A. Pre-Production Services
Simple Definition: Pre-Production includes all of the planning (such as scriptwriting, talent/location scouting, and shoot dates) before the actual shooting begins.

Production Services
Simple Definition: Production is when the footage is recorded. This can take place on location or in our on-site studio.

Post-Production Services
Simple Definition: Post-Production is a general term for all of the stages of production that occur after the actual footage recording and ending with the final delivery of the project.

Q. How long is this process?

The time required for each project is unique. This can depend on answers to questions such as: Do we need to write a script? Will we be shooting any footage? If so, how much will we be shooting? Once we get a good understanding of what you have in mind, we can give you a pretty good idea of the timeline.

Q. What is the first step?

The first step is definitely giving us a call to set up a meeting. Nothing too fancy - we just want to have a chance to meet you and hear about what you are looking for from us. We also want to give you a chance to tour our facilities and ask us any questions you may have coming into the process.

Our Services

Q. Can you shoot out of town?

A. Yes – we have gone all over the country with our clients. Our Project Manager can set up the travel arrangements so you don’t have to worry about any of those details.

Q. Can we order additional copies of our project in the future?

A. Yes! We keep a master copy of all of our projects. You can call us at any time to request additional copies as well as to come in and make additional revisions. We can do bulk orders up to about 500 duplications. We can usually get the additional copies back to you pretty quick, too.

Q. We would like to put our video project on the web – can you help with this?

A. Of course! We want our clients to get the most “bang for their buck.” We often suggest that they enhance their website by adding the project to the web. While we are not in the website business, we have worked with web development companies to identify the specifications required to have our clients’ projects look great on the web.

Q. How involved do I need to be in the process?

A. What we tell our clients is that you can be involved as much as possible. Some clients prefer to sit in during their editing sessions while other prefer to provide us with that they are looking for and have our creative minds work on it. Either way, we can provide you with as much support as you need.

Q. So what kind of services do you provide?

  • A. Additional Services:
  • Audio Sound Effects
  • Cleared Background Music Library: Using cleared music prevents copyright issues that you could meet if you used music that you came across on your own.
  • Scriptwriting
  • Creative Concept Development
  • Talent Coordination
  • Location Scouting
  • Project Coordination (Travel, Meals, etc.)
  • Duplication Services

Cost

Q. How much will my project cost?

A. This is one of the questions we get asked a lot. The answer we give is this: production & post-production projects are much like building a house. Do you want a basic house or would you like to live in a house worthy of a celebrity? Indoor Pool & Basketball Court? Will it have 2 bedrooms or 6? You get the picture - your expectations for the end result will affect the pricing. We will certainly provide you with a high-quality project no matter what but the best way to get some numbers on cost is to contact us so we can discuss what you need.

Q. Can you provide me with a cost estimate?

A. Sure! Before we provide you with an estimate, we like to sit down and speak with you about the details your project. We’ll just ask you a few questions about your timeline, goals, uses, and budget. That way, we can have a greater understanding of your expectations and what is involved with your particular project.

Q. Do you charge for initial consultations?

A. No way! We’d love to meet with you to introduce our services to you even if you don’t have an upcoming project. If you’re lucky, it just might be the day that we refill the many candy dispensers located throughout the building!

Q. What are some tips on controlling costs?

A. One of the things that we suggest to a budget-conscious client is to take advantage of your company’s existing inventory of media. We are often told: “We have all of these still pictures & footage sitting around our office – what can you do with it?” Often times, clients don’t even know that there is existing footage that their company already has. In addition to supplementing any footage that we shoot, we can also do some great things with still shots and existing footage alone!
